Review, review, review.

Any work at home on addition and subtraction math facts is greatly appreciated. Please have your student read for at least 20 minutes each night.

Beginning of Year Subject

Math- We will start our year by studying graphing in our Trailblazers series. Look for graphs at home in newspapers or magazines you subscribe to. Science- In science we will be studying life cycles and characteristics of animals. Social Studies- Our year begins with life along the Santa Fe and Oregon Trails. We will learn about the reasons for these trails starting and why people chose to travel this treacherous trails. Writing- Our first trait of the year is ideas. Students have generated some writing ideas from their summer adventures. Language took their first spelling pretest today. Ask them how they did. Friday will be the Posttest for those who did not ace it today. Shared reading includes stories of immigrants. Guided reading has not started yet but will soon.

Parent Night

Tuesday, August 21st at 6:30 we will be having Parent Night. I look forward to seeing all of you then.
