Scientific Process

Quarter 2 students will be working on the scientific process in preparation for their science fair projects which will be due in March. We are going through all the steps. Question-Is it a testable question. Hypothesis-What do I think will happen. Materials - What do I need to complete this experiment? Steps - Exactly how this experiment will happen step by step. Conclusion-Did my conclusion match my hypothesis? If not why? Research - What information did I find that would help me support my conclusion.

Spelling Bee Winners

Congratulations to Lane Horton and Kaia Miller for being the contestants in the Spelling Bee on Friday, Jan. 11th, 2013. Madeline Hagedorn is our runner up.

Eyeglas Donation

Dear West Elementary Parents, Joe Wilken, local Lions Club member, gave a presentation to all classes this week on the International Lions Club project, which focuses on literacy. One of the projects of the Lions Club is to collect used eyeglasses to be recycled and sent to third world countries for those in need. They also collect used hearing aids to provide to those less fortunate. We are asking students and staff to donate any old eyeglasses and/or hearing aids to the program. Students may bring their donations to the West library from now until January 31. Thank you for supporting this very worthy cause!
